    Mike's Toyota

Ok, so the first thing that attracted me to RC Crawling was Chino's bruiser. I found it in the scale section and was hooked ever since. However Bruisers were just ridiculously priced. So I was truly stoked when the Hilux was reissued. So after a few years of waiting and watching, I started to gather parts to make my own Toyota Pickup. Now this is only my interpretation of a "stock-ish" truck. If you are looking for absolute scale and perfect detail, go to the top build section of scale4x4rc.com. Plenty of cool shit over there. Ok, on to the build details...

Started with a SCX-10 chassis kit off ebay, with chassis mounted steering
Tamiya Hilux body, w/ hand made interior
Axial tranny with a Warrior 35T
Axial axles with all of the goodies
    Pede drivelines
Losi 1.2 shocks w/ white springs
    SS lower links
Hummer wheels modded and wrapped in RC4WD Mud Thrashers
    FX-R, 3100, 5955 and CC BEC

    on to the pics...

    chassis front

    chassis rear

    steering mount

    another shot of the steering

    body on

    interior from front

    interior from back

Still finishing up all of the interior and still have to get it all tuned, but should have it done just in time for the LoneStar Scale Event. May still add a winch and lights and other goodies, just haven't gotten that far yet.

    Re: Mike's Toyota

Thanks guys. It's coming along. I added a sliver of regular foam on the outer sidewall to help with the low tire pressure. Interior has been rhino lined and the dash has been rubberized. I still have a few paint strokes, and a steering column and wheel, as well as a shifter setup, for the interior. My FX-R, seats and some other scale treats have been ordered. A driver has been bid on. And after a few more tweaks to the body, it too will be rhino lined and painted. I'm going with a special color just for Cory  !

Thanks Carlos. This is by far the most detailed build I have done to date. I hope it turns out cool.
