    ~TSS~ 1.9 Scale Nats Jeep

This will be my entry for the 1.9 class at the 2008 scale nats.
this chassis is the first chassis i ever designed and had professionally cut long before The Scale Shop even existed. ive just never used it, its not exactly scale looking or well laid out, as i was just learning back then, but it has alot of meaning to me being my first, so i thought it was fitting to use it for a build for the bigest scale event ever put together.8)

    parts list:
    New Bright TJ body
    Warn Front Bumper
    TSS rear bumper with carrier
    TSS chassis
    TSS roof rack
    TSS hi-lift jack
    TSS rock rings
    TSS Billet Warn XD9000i Winch
    TSS rear axle truss
    RC4WD R2B
    RC4WD True scale 1.9 wheels
    RC4WD 1.9 Claws
    Obijuan Hard Top
    LEDs
    Various scale goodies

    lots of work to do.....

got allitle more done. had to switch to an axial tranny with a tiny 78T spur. because of the layout of the upper links and the interior the R2 just wasnt going in there. i got the rough cuts done for the spur and shocks. also got the winch assembled, just needs paint, lever, and line now. may end up haveing to go to shorter shocks, or cutting the shafts on these TLTs.

    rough cuts done.

got the body dismanteled, wet sanded and ready for paint

after flat black on the bottom, 4 coats of Viper Metallic Blue, and about 2 f-ing hours of masking. ready for satin black on the flares and rockers.

    first coat for the interior....

Bumper shot with satin black, and the winch with gloss....

tops almost done, just gotta glue the windows in. i think ive decided not to tint them. flat black on the inside, plasti-dip spray on the outside to simulate the textured rubber like finish of the 1:1. rack painted gloss black.

shes a roller now. switched shocks to bring the axles up.

got the final coat on the interior and the body back assembled

this is more what the paint looks like in real life, a royal metallic blue. the flash makes it midnight blue in the other shots for some reason.

starting to look like something :) shes a roller at least.
still got windows, roof rack, electronics, and scale items left...

here you can see the paint allitle better outside. im almost positive ive got more time in paint work, than i do in fabing and building the entire truck. for some reason the metallic makes the paint look orange peely, in person its smooth as glass.

    back to work....

Re: ~TSS~ 1.9 Scale Nats Jeep

well with the Lone Star Scale Comp in the morning and 90% of the to do list for hosting it done, and not haveing a rig to compete with i figured i better get busy.

since my nats jeep was the only one with a still valid inpection sticker i figured it was my only choice.

i went from bare chassis to RTR in about 2 hours :eek2: luckily by digging threw my bins, and scavenging other half complete rigs i was able to find all the origonal parts i built it with so made it go by fast. even found the origonal links all ready to go. that was a huge time saver.

i raised the suspension about 3/8" and threw on my set of TSS "Trail Ready" beadlocks. the only unmounted tires i had were some Tomahawks (OG hard compound :Shaking: ) so i threw them on.

i also removed the hard top and all the roof rack and lights etc. lowered the CG significantly. also went to a smaller spare to reduce draging on climbs.

we'll see how she does, although alot of work im looking forward to a fun day tommorrow. cant wait.

Man, you always take scale to a new level. Everytime i see a pic of the scale shop i freak out. Needs some oil stains on the floor.(who really has a shop that clean anyways)
Don't fix it if it's not broke. Now thats just stupid...
