    Re: D90 *UPDATE*

    No pic update, I suck. Just got the HPI GRU from KRAWLR4life and have the 45t integy mounted to it. This weekend I will be pulling the R2 and probably fitting an Axial trans in as a transfer case and mounting the motor/gru up front. I will also get the front links done, adding either one or two uppers for support, just havent decided on whether I need 2 or if one will do. Any suggestions or tims would be great.
    Pics to come.

    Keep us posted, I would like to see how you set up your transfer case. Keep up the good work.

    Re: D90 *UPDATE*

    I need help...need to know if this is too much gear reduction:

    45t Integy --> HPI GRU --> GD600 -->|Axial transfercase
    or
    45t Integy --> HPI GRU --> GD600 -->|Wheely King transfercase
    or
    45t Integy --> HPI GRU -->|Axial or WK transfercase

    I have a 35t and 45t integy to work with, and a variety of pinion gears to try.

    Re: D90 *UPDATE*

    Decided not to use the Axial as a transfer case, I want to keep it and use it in my sons truck (80%). Instead, I am going shop around for transfer cases, most likely the RC4WD T1 Disrupter, since its drive shaft mount is center and thats how my motor/hpi gru will be. Thats the other thing, Im using only the HPI GRU for gear reduction. I gave it a test run, no load, just holding it in my hand and it seemed very torque and slow, but not super slow. I made a template for how I will mount it and should get to cutting within the next few nights.

    That would be a clean look with the disrupter in there..

    If worse comes to worse and I have to use the Axial, I think I know how it would get mounted. Pantablo has one similar, setup and all, and it appears as though he has a steel plate coming over from the side rail (chassis) and mounting the tranny on its back.

    Yea, it should be pretty easy with just a flat plate to lay the tranny on its side. It would look clean with the motor plate and everything removed off the tranny(transfercase)

    Re: D90 *UPDATE* - 8-2-09

    Got most of the chassis work done. Cleaned and trimmed the shock and link mounts, mounted the motor and axial/transfer case. I still need to get the panhard bar put in, and front shocks. The rear springs are probably going to be swapped out for softer ones, once I can find some. Also switched the rear to 4 link versus 3 link. Once I get the chassis all finished up I will clean it and paint it. Let me know what you think.
