well ive always been sorta know as a chevy man:mrgreen: but i figured it was time for a change. Even with their popularity ive never built or owned a hilux of any kind. Ive been collecting parts and slowely working on this one for nearly a year now

i had been taking pics along the way for the build thread of the styrene work, but accidently erased the card:roll: so this is how it stands now.

cab: i used a wild willys tailgate for the front and used the cut off fender to trace the wheel arch:thumbsup:

after the cab was far enough along to mount to the TSS chassis, i sent it and pics with drawings/plans for the tube bed to R2J. he hooked it up. great job and fitment. i was admitingly very picky and he was awesome to work with"thumbsup"
once i add shock mounts i will hack the back of the rails off at the shapie line. ill use the rails as a jig to keep the mounts true.

Tires?

Agreed that R2J is a great builder, and it just happens that he is a team driver for Locked Up Rc:thumbsup:

honestly im not sure on tires. ive always wanted a hilux on super swampers
http://store.rc4wd.com/Interco-Super-Swamper-19-TSLBogger-Scale-Tire-_p_1133.html
but they suck for crawling. but im sorta tired of me building for performance/the rule book. so i may just do what i want on this one.
i also love the narrowness of the old school rox lox. but again hard compound.

might just look into the pitbulls. as long as there not too wide.

wheels will probly be Chameleons. and it just happens that they are available at The Scale Shop :lmao:

If you trim the small lugs and belt sand the internals of the tire, it can actually work pretty well for crawling...

well i couldnt take it any longer. i decided to ditch the truggy chassis and tube bed and go for a more humble look.

drew up a new chassis for a wood flat bed:thumbsup:
started working on filling the door jams holes with styrene.
also picked up a Tamiya Semi rear axle, and aluminum dually wheels:evil:

been concentrating on the rust bucket first.

Why would you refer to Audrey as a rust bucket:redfinger:
