Got the Honcho several months ago but just havent done anything with it being so hot out and all. Finally got around to making some sliders and a front bumper for it.

For electronics I plan on using my sidewinder and HH 30t-35t, not sure which though.
3Racing winch
CC BEC set to 6v
MIP shafts
hd outputs - backordered with tower
OD gears for the rear
4 linked the rear - using axial truss..will probably make my own soon
chassis mounted servo - homemade - with panhard - keeping front 3 linked for now

This will be my comp truck,,,not sure if Im sticking with 1.9 or going to 2.2's yet.

Then a light went off and I think I will mount my cage to it and ditch the Honcho body..

Started cutting up the HPI jeep body I had, still have more to do but I think its going to work out. You can see in one of the pictures I will have to widen the cage a bit to meet up with the width of the hood. I figured I would keep the roof the same width and just angle out the pillars. Its early, but let me know if y'all think I should keep the roof panel or just ditch it..

I love sketchup too.

I vote you keep the roof as well.

Making tube in sketchup takes some practice and then it never seems to be perfect, but at least gives you a good idea.. Im uploading some pics of the trucks current state now..hacked off the rear cage to redo it (tomorrow night) and will braze the cage to the sliders as well, just not sure how im going to do the rear of the cage but there a bunch of ideas floating around in my little head...I gotta say, for not making this cage for the scx 10, I got pretty damn lucky in how easiy its going to be mount, both for now and for when I redo it all later with a custom chassis...you will see what i mean in the pics.

Here you can see where i cut off most of the rear portion of the cage. I want to do something more like in my sketchup.

Here is where the front of the cage will mount to the sliders. and the next picture how the rear will attach to the chassis somehow.

The front of chassis, which was and is going to have the shocks mounted turned out perfect, even if i wanted to mount it to the stock shock hoops.

As of know I dont know if I will stay with blue or go with something else like green or maybe orange, if I can find the right burnt orange color..

Tell me about it..If for some reason I cant get it done I will just the Honcho body...kinda happy I lucked out with the mounts for the cage, able to use all stock parts to mount it. I should be able to get a lot done today though, including mounting a plate for the winch, metal tabs for the body mounts, more bracing..

Diggin' the new tube work, Steve!

Thank you Tommy. I got it all cleaned up and ready for paint, which will happen tomorrow. Tonight I have braze on a plate for the winch to the bumper. If I time tonight I might also try and get a mount put in for the spare tire. Regardless, it should be good to go for Sunday, not as pretty as I would like but overall Im happy with it for my first all out tuber. I will get some pics up tonight.

Lost internet last night for some reason, here are those pics...the cage is pretty much all ready for paint along with the front bumper with winch mount attached. Dont know if the roof will make it for this comp so it might go topless.

Here it is pretty much all put together, minus some electronics and body work. I will try and get the front grill on and roof on before the comp but no promises...scale points are not going to be as high as i would like but at least its running - except that damn winch...need 3racing controller if anyone has one.
