well ive sold off all my TT trucks so time to build another. will be a 1.9 crawler loosly based on the Camburg Tundra, but i will try to mimick the 1:1 as best as possible. a slow build as usual.

Body: Tamiya Tundra

Chassis: Custom TSS
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/2962/chassis.jpg

Shocks: just picked up a pair of SCX shocks. probly use those.

Wheels: RC4WD Mojave 1.9 beadlocks
http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/7891/mojavewheels.jpg

Tires: been working with mike to have some Baja T/As made and they listened. the 2.2s are already in production and as soon as the 1.9s are ready they will be going on this truck.

axles: the rear axle of a trophy truck is one thing ive always loved. always bad ass and always works of art. went with a RC4WD Wyatt Racing axle housing with truss. front axle will be TLT or D35.

Scale Parts: will have lots of little cool parts

Cage Work: 3/16 brake line. to follow that of the 1:1 as closely as possible

That is going to be awesome. Is that a radiator? if so I think it would look great with some plastic end caps on it.

I decided to go the easy way for my first scaler and ordered a SCX10. Still working on what body to go with:)
Any secret spots you can offer that have 1/10 bodies would be gr8ly appreciated!!!
Checked new bright but that is about it so far.....

So I guess the next set of pics will be in a day or two right:)

Just my 2 cents, but I think some 3/16 black delrin bent to shape would probally make some nice radiator hose. Oooo wait new GM vacuum tube is 3/16

cool idea. i could probly drill and tap holes on the sides on the top and screw in a socket cap head for a nipple for some hose to slide over.

How did you dechrome the parts?

purple power, about an hour, usually inside a ziplock. works insanly well on tamiya chrome parts. been using it for years. leaves a smooth glossy finish.

 what is Purple Power???

its a degreser.
stumbled onto it when cleaning under the hood in my second camaro for a car show back in the day. noticed the paint from the wheel wells was coming off on the rag
then tryied it on some tamiya chrome letting it soak. part has to always stay wet with the Purple power or it stops working if it dries.

i think Castrol super clean does the same thing.

getting the rear axle built
http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/5781/axleassembly.jpg

made some upper and lower link mounts, fit perfect.
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/4240/axleassembly2.jpg

got some links made and the axles on. sitting a bit high now, but im awaiting some much softer (backordered) springs. to help bring it down.

a little update. got the bed attached to the cab. strips should disappear once painted black.
i also did another filler/sanding session on the hood vents. im still not happy with them. but giving up, i just cant make them feathered and pitless like i want.
http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/4752/bodystrips.jpg

rear links came in. they look so sick. gonna really add alot to the truck. especially with the droop setup.
http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/6514/clinks1.jpg

so i got the wheels and tires mounted up as well as the new links to check out the roller, the body is just resting on the tires.
