    eric113 GC2/3

I started this over Christmas break, I picked back up today

    - DNA mini sling shot
    - DNA 1.9 snipers soon to switch out to thrashers
    - Losi mini late model shocks
    - JRH mini torque master
    - stock Mrc esc soon to switch out to sidewinder
    - Hitech 5645
    - CC bec
    - Losi blue claws with Losi memory foams
    - Losi steel lockers and center locker
    - Losi aluminum rear lockout with one piece stainless steel shafts

One mod I did do.. was not use the screws that hold the links to the skid, instead I found two old L shape allen wrenches and cut down to fit and used a 1/8'' bass tube as a spacer. Bolted it all back together.

Instead of using them, I had some old L shaped allen wrenches and cut them so it fits between the screw on the outside. It makes it easier to get the links on and off rather then fawking with inside screws. Make sense now ?

    NO, I'm confused now too.

It looks like you have the screws threading in all the way from the outside and they go into the brass piece. If so, why would you need a shorter allen?

I suck explaining things like this over the computer... :Shaking:

The outside screws are holding the cut allen in.

    Re: Mini sling

i think i got it. you are only using two screws and those are only used to hold the chassis side plates to the skid. the allen goes all the way through the skid and is centered which holds the two links and spacer. correct?

Cool idea, Eric. I was contemplating a similar arrangement, but where you used your brass spacer I was going to use a threaded tube and have screws come in from either side. I also got rid of as much of the 2mm hardware as I could and replaced it with 3mm stuff.

I wonder if I can get a non-drilled skidplate from DNA. Might make it easier since my link mount holes aren't exactly concentric right now.
